Tips for insurance business success

  • by The Quotesonline Team

Ausure Insurance Brokers Echuca, which recently received three national awards at the 2010 Ausure Awards evening,  has grown significantly since they started out six years ago. The insurance business has expanded from two to 13 team members and won the national Ausure Group’s Largest Branch Award for the highest earnings for the past four years. We asked Ausure Echuca Directors, Tim Dale and Lindsay Rankin for some tips.

What has contributed to Ausure Echuca’s success? “Our greatest business strengths are threefold; our ability to act as a team, be a ‘one-stop shop’ offering clients both general insurance and financial planning advice as well as provide clients access to the wider facilities of the Ausure Group network. Our capacity to be flexible, offer comprehensive financial solutions and insure a great diversity of risks has been well received by our customers.”

What are the best marketing strategies?

Although our focus has always been on serving our local community, we have clients in every state in Australia. This has been achieved through word of mouth and the development of strategic alliances.

Good news travels fast and we believe in the power of quality business referrals. This is why we are gold sponsors of the Murray Business Network, a support and referral network with members located across northern Victoria and southern NSW.

What advice can you give to new businesses? “Always try and deal with the local business people in your area to help support and grow your business as well as the community around you. Since we belong to and are supported by the Echuca-Moama community, we have always believed in the importance of giving back.”

Tim has been involved with fundraising for breast and prostate cancer with the Horizon Committee and Lindsay has worked for years as Chairman of the Salvation Army and supporting Moama Bowling Club’s community work.

How has your location contributed to your business growth over the years? “Echuca is a progressive town. It is a rich agricultural area, has a growing tourism industry, provides relatively cheap land to build and is in close proximity to Melbourne. We love living here and would never leave.”
