Jordan Hawke has been appointed as EGM to lead Suncorp Life’s IFA Distribution as part of the restructuring program to align the business behind a new simplified business model, aimed at doubling new business in three years by focusing on two distribution channels.
Suncorp Life CEO Geoff Summerhayes unveiled the new business model and structure to the market at the UBS Investor Conference in Sydney. Summerhayes said “Suncorp Group, from the Board down, backs Independent Financial Advisers. We see enormous opportunity with regulatory changes coming up, and believe independent financial advice is here to stay – it’s never been more important. That’s why I have outlined a strategy to lead the IFA market, with Asteron as our core IFA brand. There is no person better placed in the industry to ensure we are successful than Jordan Hawke. Jordan’s reputation as the champion of IFAs, coupled with his passion for the life insurance industry and focus on customer care made him the right choice to lead our Intermediated business.”
Hawke has held senior roles in the life insurance industry for more than 20 years, and has led the Asteron business for the last two. Commenting on his appointment, Mr Hawke said: “I’ve always had a genuine respect for the role of the adviser, and the lives and families they protect through the good of what they do. To be able to support advisers in my capacity as EGM of Asteron is not only an honour, but something I will devote all of my energy to.
