In their latest newsletter, QBE Insurance, one of Australia’s largest international Insurance and reinsurance groups, announced the winners of the 2009 Work Safe Victoria and Work Cover NSW awards at two Safety Award ceremonies in the respective states.
QBE reports that there were 118 entries in total in Victoria, with 19 finalists and six of these receiving awards.
“The Awards recognise Victoria’s shining stars of workplace safety, people who have used their ideas, innovations and initiative to make Victorian workers safer. We would like to congratulate our QBE finalists in Victoria, in particular our three winning clients, Cherry Constructions and Workright Safety Solutions, Bendigo Regional Institute of TAFE and Youth Justice Custodial Services.
Congratulations must also go to our NSW winner, Motor Traders Association (MTA) of NSW. We would also like to congratulate Motor Traders Association (MTA) of NSW for winning the prestigious WorkCover Leadership safety award at the NSW Safe Work Awards. We are proud to have worked with these organisations, and congratulate them on their hard work and initiatives to keep their workplaces safe.”
