Minto explains TOWER’s name change to TAL

  • by The Quotesonline Team

TOWER Australia Group Managing Director Jim Minto has explained the company’s decision to change its name to TAL Limited (TAL).

Minto said the TAL name was selected for various reasons: “TAL is sharp and strong and resonates very positively with many of our stakeholders. It is direct and no-nonsense – qualities embodied in our products and services, our relationships and in our approach to taking life (insurance) personally.”

“TAL has a close positive association with our company’s strong reputation and performance in the Australian market.”

The adoption of the name TAL came after extensive research and is a result of the expiration of a five-year agreement with TOWER Limited of New Zealand to use the TOWER name in Australia.

“Our new name still recognises our long and distinguished heritage and our past successes as we move into the next phase of our growth,” said Minto.

The new name will be progressively incorporated into the operations of the business up till November 2011 when the current licence to use the TOWER name expires.

Mr Minto stated TOWER Australia’s planning for the change to TAL is well prepared. He also assured both staff and TOWER Australia’s many business partners that they would be fully supported in making a smooth transition that would not materially affect policy-holders in any way.

“We are very excited and are keen to maintain our place as the leading specialist voice of life insurance in Australia” he said.
