AMP Australian Life Insurer

Australian Life Insurers AMP, AXA SA (AXA Australia’s global parent) have bid for competitor AXA Asia Pacific, in a bid that AMP’s Chief Executive Craig Dunn has described as “…fair and compelling”

The deal proposed would see AMP take control over AXA’s Australian and New Zealand Life Insurance and Wealth Management business and with AXA SA acquiring AXA APH’s Asian business.

AXA APH has rejected the offer with Rick Allert, AXA APH Chairman, saying “AXA APH’s Independent Directors remain committed to AXA APH’s current strategies to maximise shareholder value.
