Life insurer TOWER Australia Group Limited has appointed Fiona Balfour as an independent non-executive Director to the Board.
TOWER’s Chairman Rob Thomas said, “We are particularly pleased Fiona has accepted our invitation to join the TOWER Australia Group Limited Board. She brings to the Board additional expertise in fields which are highly relevant to the company today as it grows in the Australian market place and retains its focus on being a life insurance specialist.”

Balfour has more than 30 years executive experience across a wide range of businesses including Financial Services, Health Administration, Aviation, Information and Telecommunications Services, Education as well as a range of not-for-profit organisations.
Balfour’s senior executive roles have been with the Link Group, Medibank Private, Telstra Corporation and Qantas Airways among others. She is presently on the board of the publicly listed company Salmat Limited (ASX:SLM) and was recently appointed to the board of Metcash Limited (ASX:MTS). She is also a Councillor of Knox Grammar School in Wahroonga, a member of the advisory board for the IT Faculty at Monash University and a Trustee of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
