As part of its strategy to grow its general insurance business through technology, Zurich Financial Services Australia (Australia) has established the new key strategic national role of Head of Automated Business Solutions (ABS).
Zurich today announced the appointment of Mr Daniel Fogarty, who has more than 20 years experience in the financial services industry, to this role.
“We are targeting substantial growth in the products under the ABS umbrella: Packaged Business Insurance; CTP; Taxis; Affinities; Schemes; and Loyalty products,” said Mr Andrew Barrowman, General Manager, General Insurance.
“The ABS team is supported by our new multi million dollar investments in improved IT platforms, occurring now and into future years, to support and improve Zurich’s underwriting and claims services,” he said.
“ABS is focussed on SMEs and the brokers who serve them, and aims to provide improved insurance products and services through improved technologies,” Mr Barrowman added.
Mr Fogarty was previously at Suncorp, where, for the last six years, he has held senior executive roles, including Executive General Manager, Suncorp Personal Insurance, and Executive General Manager, Intermediated Personal Insurance. Prior to Suncorp, between 1988 and 2003, he held senior roles at Westpac, including Chief Manager, General Insurance.
“Daniel has a strong commitment to performance and a track record of profitably growing and developing key areas of business,” Mr Barrowman said.
