Calliden has announced they will continue as a provider of Domestic Builders Insurance in the Victorian market.
Following the revelation of the new government underwritten scheme in Victoria mid 2010, Calliden originally decided to withdraw. However, the company says it has maintained a dialogue with relevant government bodies in Victoria and continues to work closely with industry representatives including their intermediary partners. Calliden said the market has been stable and there is continued demand for an alternative.
Calliden will continue to support its existing intermediary partners transacting Domestic Builders business in Victoria for risks that fall within our risk appetite. There will not therefore be a requirement for existing intermediaries and their clients to migrate across to alternative arrangements.
Calliden recognises the dynamic nature of the Victorian Domestic Builders market and will continue to review its position in light of possible future changes and opportunities.
