AMP financial planner wins community award

  • by The Quotesonline Team

NSW-based AMP financial planner Bernard Fehon has received a prestigious national award for his commitment to community work. He was awarded the  AMP Foundation Community Planner of the Year award for his outstanding efforts in creating the Vinnies CEO Winter Sleepout in 2006. It allows people to experience what it’s like to be homeless, for just one night, and raise funds for St Vincent De Paul’s homeless services.

“In 2009 myself, and around 200 CEOs and community leaders, bedded down for the night with little more than a piece of cardboard to sleep on and a sleeping bag,” Mr Fehon said. “The CEO Sleepout really does change the way business and community leaders think about issues that lead to homelessness and about people who find themselves in difficult situations,” Mr Fehon said.

Mr Fehon has worked as a financial planner in Penrith, NSW, for the past decade. The  AMP Foundation has a history of supporting local communities and in 2005 launched the Community Planner of the Year Award to recognise  AMP financial planners who have helped make a real difference in their local communities.
