No impact to NCB for motor claims arising from Brisbane Storms for Allianz Clients
The storm that hit parts of South East Queensland on Thursday 27 November caused damage to a large number of properties and vehicles. With many of these claims being for motor, Allianz has made the decision not to impact the No Claim Bonus of customers who have lodged a motor claim relating to this storm.
Their decision extends to all Domestic Motor claims made as a result of damage caused by the storm that have already been submitted, as well as new ones that are yet to be lodged. Having no impact to their No Claim Bonus is one less concern for Allianz clients as they are in the process of having their vehicles repaired, replaced or paid-out.
Storm claims update
To date almost 7,000 claims have been lodged.
To expedite the claims process for the large number of hail damaged motor vehicles, Allianz set up four motor vehicle assessment centres in Brisbane, the first of which was opened and operational on the Sunday directly after the event. These are located at Mansfield, Rocklea, Zillmere and Carole Park. As per the Allianz Event Response Plan, staffing for these assessment centres came from Allianz offices across Australia allowing our most highly skilled storm event staff to assist Brisbane customers.
