The Royal Automobile Club of Queensland, known as RACQ, is a Queensland motoring organisation representing over one million members. RACQ provides a range of motoring and travel services as well as the famous roadside assistance, and insurance. RACQ insurance was established in 1971 and has had many joint ventures since with GIO, AMP, and Suncorp Metway, and only since 2010 has RACQ insurance returned to full ownership by RACQ.
